The key to heaven will also open the gate to hell. But only Forgiveness, Understanding and Love will open hearts. - Ian Faria

How You Gain

The best part of the GCF is that it has been member focused, and member driven. It is continuously evolving to meet the need of every member. The role of the Forum Leaders is to enable, empower and enhance member capability on a holistic level. Members have spoken eloquently in the Testimonials, about how they have benefitted on a personal, professional and even on the societal levels.

Here are the key areas of benefit that you can expect

  1. Confidence and Communication Skills.
Many members join specifically for the benefit of improving their skills as a speaker. In the GCF, two meetings a month are focused on Public Speaking. Here the focus is on how to communicate to different audiences, and members are encouraged to try out different styles and different achievables. For example we may be naturally gifted with humour, and so while we may exploit this attribute, it may not be appropriate in every situation. How does a humourous person use persuasion as a technique? How does a person who is introverted appear more confident and self assured. How do people who are data oriented deliver a message using anecdotes or personal experiences. Can we all use the amazing power of Story Telling to drive a message? These are some of the ways people are encouraged to become complete speakers. For those who want to learn faster and better, members have an option to exploit a discount available to all members for professional programmes run by TALK TEMPLE.

  2. Personal and Interpersonal Development.
The second meeting of every month is focused on developing personal abilities and skills and improving our relationships – professional and personal. In a world that is continuously evolving at breakneck speed, it is not enough to sit on our past laurels. At the GCF we have themes for the month that are focused on different development touch points. Our themes for the year include Looking ahead, Thriving in turbulent times, Health is Wealth... etc. We also pay a lot of attention to interpersonal communication as this is one area of interaction that is essential to good teamwork or camaraderie. We do not believe that should curse the darkness and complain about what we were not taught. We believe in switching on the light of Understanding, and requlating our environment through the air conditioner of self control. Life is short, lets make it happy.

  3. LEADERSHIP
While each of us have an inherent ability to lead, our leadership style may not be the most suited to every type of team. We have a unique session that brings in some of the best leaders in our community. The idea of this session on the Fourth Week of the month is to bring the leaders into the GCF so that they can share their success story for the benefit of the members of that forum. We have had leading lights like Allan Nazareth (ex Indian Ambassador and Author) R.K. Misra (Lead India Winner and Political Leader) Vivek Menon (Entrepreneur and Social Worker) Ravi Melwani (Motivator and Entrepreneur Extrodinaire) Bhaskar Rao (IGP – Head of the Karnataka Anti-Terrorism Department) to name a few.

  4. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
We are an organization that believes in continuous learning. Learning here is done through the details shared above. In addition we have various ways to ensure continuous growth and development. The forums have leaders who have taken on the responsibility of not only improving themselves, but they have also volunteered to follow the principles of the GCF to Enable, Enhance, and Empower others.

  5. TON of FUN
When one looks at the learning interventions that the GCF is famous for, it would naturally look like we are all focused on seriousness. Quite the contrary. Visitors to our forums would understand quickly that we use one of the best techniques in the world to propagate learning. Learning happens when the learning is fun. So sessions are interspersed with humour, wit and we constantly challenge ourselves to look at life from different perspectives. We even have a Joke-in-a-Min which enable us to use humour as a powerful tool to communicate effectively.

  6. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
Members are encouraged to grow their social profiles through interacting on Social Networking Sites, and joining Community Forums. Each of us is expected to improve our circle of influence and many forum members go out for dinners after the meetings, and we even have picnics on a regular basis. Some of the pics can be seen on the Photo section.
